I'm Mel

20260730_164120.jpg

I grew up in Sydney, but have now been living in the UK for half my life.  My accent changes between Aussie and English depending on my mood.

Nutrition came first

I have two degrees, a BSc (Hons) Nutrition as well as a BA (Hons) Health Studies.  I am registered with the Association for Nutrition as well as being fully insured.

As well as seeing private clients, I work as a Nutritionist contractor in Nurseries and in a SEN school. I also do corporate days.

And then counselling

During my Nutrition degree, I had a placement that made me realise how much I wanted to understand the person, not just what was happening physically, but how our thoughts, emotions and experiences can affect the way we feel and cope. I knew then that I wanted to train as a counsellor too. Life got in the way for a while, and it wasn’t until lockdown that I finally took the step and began my counselling training. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.

I’m a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the professional association for members of the counselling professions in the UK, and I’m also registered with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
